I’m an Australian author and lover of all kinds of crime fiction. Thrillers, suspense, police procedurals, cozy* mysteries, they all have a place on my book shelves.

My partner, Bill, and I are lucky enough to be full-time writers. After a couple of years spent wandering this beautiful country we’ve finally made our home in Newcastle, NSW, a coastal city with a casual urban beach vibe we both love.

Anyway, back to the books. The Detective Charlie Cooper Mysteries centre on Cooper, a veteran of the NSW Police Homicide Squad. Sydney is his home, his turf, and he both loves and loathes it. In the first book of the series, Dark Heart, Cooper gets a new partner, Joe Quinn. There are a few bumps along the way, naturally, but Cooper and Quinn eventually settle in for a partnership spanning seven books and two novellas.

MISSING, featuring Detective Bonnie Hunter, picks up where Charlie Cooper left off.

If cozy mysteries are more your style, you can join Addison Lake and her friends at the beach house in the Getaway Bay Cozy Mystery Series. I originally published these under a pseudonym, Grace York, but I’ve now brought them home and republished them under my own name.

*I realise cozy is actually spelt cosy in Australia (we follow the UK spelling and grammar style), but I’ve chosen to adopt the US spelling just for this one word. As a genre, cozy mysteries are much more recognisable (and searchable) than cosy mysteries, and I’m all about being found!
